Smooth Moves

I am not a dessert person but Dirk loves to have dessert every night, a few hours after dinner. While his favorite dessert is anything chocolate we have really been enjoying homemade smoothies. I try to make them as often as possible because they quench Dirk's dessert craving but also appease me because they are healthy.

Every night they are a little bit different but here's the base of them all...

1/4 cup low-fat peach yogurt
1/4 cup low-fat strawberry yogurt
Approx. 10 large frozen strawberries
A handful of frozen raspberries
4 or 5 rings of fresh pineapple (you can use canned but fresh tastes way better)
two tablespoons of orange juice concentrate
Bottled orange juice (just enough to provide enough liquid for the smoothie, I always have to play with it)

I put all of the ingredients in the blender and blend. Most times I don't put enough O.J. in it and so it stops blending. Make sure to add a little bit at a time so it's not too thin. After everything is blended we always taste and decide what we want more of. If it's not sweet enough I add a little bit of honey and blend it some. Overall, while they may be somewhat high in calories there is hardly any fat and there are lots of vitamins and antioxidants. Gotta love a yummy healthy snack!!!
