Will you do your husband good or harm?

As wives we directly influence our husbands. You and I both know that we are skilled workers in wrapping our men around our fingers. Most of us don't do it maliciously but we do have the capability to do it. Think about when you were little, did you not have a way to wrap your "daddy" around your finger? Mine was never with batting my eyes or crying but rather by negotiating. I could always negotiate with my parents and would at times leave them speechless because they didn't know how to respond. Being a little girl is one thing but as grown women we shouldn't be trying to use our negotiating powers to convince our husbands of anything.

Of course we all know the infamous story of Adam and Eve where the serpent first tempts Eve and she in turn gives the fruit to Adam. Come on, how many of you have husbands that will eat anything you try to feed them? With a little coaxing a man will eat anything. So now sin begins

Now lets look at Genesis 16:1-6 Sarai is at the point of frustration. God has not blessed her with a child and so she convinces Abram to marry Hagar, the maid, and "lie with" her. Hagar conceives and then despises Sarai and Sarai then blames Abram by saying, "My wrong be upon you!" Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Lastly, for this post, Genesis 30:1-2 Rachel was jealous of her sister Leah, seriously who wouldn't be jealous after the whole marriage ordeal with Rachel and Jacob and Leah, it's a soap opera for crying out loud. Anyway she convinces Jacob to marry Bilhah, her maid and to have children with Bilhah. Jacob listens to Rachel, Bilhah bears Rachel a couple of kids and then Leah starts doing the same and it becomes this crazy competition to have babies.

Well, isn't our female species off to a great start?

Overall, these women had the power to convince their husbands to disobey the Lord. Are the husbands responsible for their sins? ABSOLUTELY, however would they have thought of these malicious plans on their own? I'm thinking no. Men aren't the type to conjure up these elaborate plans and then hastily execute the plans. We women are obviously notorious for this.

So back to the title of the post...Will you do your husband good or harm? You have the power to persuade your husband...will you use it for negativity? Can you handle just sitting back and keeping your mouth shut while your husband hears from the Lord?

I'll leave you with these famous verses:

Proverbs 31:10-12

"Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
the heart of her husband safely trusts her;
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life."

Meditate on that...it's really powerful!
