Enjoying the Oddities of Life

I am a perfectionist. I love perfectly straight lines and angles. I like things to be exact, not estimations. I am a perfectionist, if I'm going to do something it's going to be wholeheartedly and it's going to be as close to perfect as I can get it. On the flip side I find some oddities absolutely fascinating and even fun. I know it sounds silly but certain oddities make me giggle. For example tonight I was making dinner and sliced open a red bell pepper only to find this:

It's a "baby" bell pepper inside the big bell pepper.

Things like this happen to me all the time. A grape that looks like three grapes fused together. Cherry tomatoes that look like a bottom...heehee. I show them to Dirk but he just doesn't seem to think it's as fun as I do. I feel like when I find these little gems, God is giving me a little piece of joy and I am remembered that He is an awesome God and that he allowed that piece of fruit to grow in that way. It also reminds me that I need to treasure every person's differences and talents, especially as a teacher. Maybe I'm being too philosophical over a piece of unusual fruit but hey it's my blog and I can share what I want :)

  1. This is a random comment because I was just scrolling down your blog, but I totally had the same experience with a red bell pepper just a couple of weeks ago! Amazing! There are so many "little" things in God's creation that echo His workmanship. Of the non-believer, it makes me so desperately wonder, "why can't they see?!?"
