My Birthday - Part Dos

As I mentioned earlier my birthday was on my first day of school. Needless to say this was an exhausting day and so instead of going out that day we hung out with my family at my parents' house. We just chilled and had a yummy, homemade dinner. Thanks Mom and Dad!

This weekend Dirk planned a surprise day out. Luckily for me it didn't start until later in the day because I was more exhausted than I've been in a really long time. We slept in and Dirk got us Starbucks for breakfast...Pumpkin Spice Latte number two :) We watched some TV in bed and ate our breakfast. After lounging around for awhile we got ready and headed out.

First Stop: Target because my blow drier went out while I was getting ready...bummer.

Next Stop: Griffith Observatory
This place was amazing!!! I absolutely love looking at the night sky, especially the ever changing moon. Although we were there during the day we were able to see a lot of really cool things. The buildings' architecture is amazing! Unfortunately it was pretty smoggy so the Los Angeles skyline wasn't as awesome as it can be but it was still pretty awesome. I am really looking forward to a time when we can go back at night.

Here are some pics:

Stop #3: The Grand Lux Cafe
This is the restaurant that Dirk took me to the night we got engaged so we definitely have some good memories here. The Grand Lux is located at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles and is owned by the Cheesecake Factory. They have some similar menu items and some of the same cheesecakes but their claim to fame, perhaps in our eyes only, is their Double Stuffed Potato Spring Rolls.

It may sound weird but it is a spring roll stuffed with mashed potatoes and topped with cheese, green onions and bacon. They are absolutely amazing, perhaps a heart attack waiting to happen but amazing nonetheless.

After stuffing our faces with more food than you can imagine, and of course strawberry lemonade, I thought we were heading home. Now this part may seem a little stockerish (I know stockerish is not a word) but please understand that it is not. As I've mentioned before, I LOVE the show "Tori and Dean Home Sweet Hollywood." Well we were so excited for Tori and Dean when they bought their first home and we were enthralled with the show as they were decorating the whole house. So Dirk found their address online and we drove by their house. We totally just drove by we didn't even stop. It sounds super weird and I've never really been into celebs and where they live and all that but for some reason I was really excited about it. I actually even mentioned to Dirk earlier in the day, before I knew we were going there, that we should try to find their house. Their house is super cute but totally normal, nothing really special, just in case you wondering.

After a long and fun day out we headed back home to watch a movie, unfortunately I was exhausted and fell asleep before the movie started but I did have a wonderful time and it was really cool to do something completely different for my 25th birthday. Thanks Love!
