Sorry Starbucks

There are some things in life that you can really only enjoy at Starbucks, example: The Pumpkin Spice Latte of course. Now there are other things that are better consumed if they are not from Starbucks. Case in point: oatmeal. I love oatmeal and I'm typically pretty picky with my oatmeal. I don't like the mushy, pasty stuff. Well Starbucks, in my opinion, is one step before being pasty BUT the berries make it edible and at times even craveable, that was until I discovered Trader Joe's frozen steel cut oats. In the words of Rachel Ray, "YUM-O!"

It's only $1.99 for a box of the oatmeal which makes two servings of oatmeal. I'm usually the kind of person who makes two packets of dried oatmeal but these frozen packages come with just enough oatmeal. I also bought Trader Joe's dried berry medley. After cooking the oatmeal I add a little bit of brown sugar and some of the dried berries. It's so yummy and WAY better and cheaper than Starbucks.

  2. I had Starbucks oatmeal once, and that was the only time. I am not really that picky about my oatmeal, but this was just gross. It was so watery, and that was that! I never got it again.

  4. At first I didnt know what that circular lump was! Now I see, I didnt know they made oatmeal that way. I love oatmeal too, but I usually enjoy the pasty, thick kind :)....but Starbucks' version isnt my favorite. Maybe I'll try this one out.
I am looking forward to trying some of their new holiday drinks though! The Espresso Truffle sounds interesting, and if you havent yet, you gotta try the hazlenut hot chocolate! Sooo good!
