Last Thursday Makenzie turned 6 months. I seriously can't believe we've come this far. 6 months was a huge milestone for us, which is also why I haven't written a post in almost 2 weeks. 5 months ago breastfeeding was all consuming and I remember thinking that there was no way that I was going to be able to pump milk for Makenzie 6+ times a day for 6 months. I praise the Lord that He has given me the strength and endurance to continue on in this way. I wish I could say that Makenzie hasn't had any formula but we all know that's not true but at least 75% or more of her milk has been breastmilk. I praise the Lord for that and that we are continuting to press on, now we have to make it to the one year mark!
I also praise the Lord that I was able to stay home with Makenzie full-time for exactly 6 months. It was the best 6 months ever. I started working a little bit last week. I'm just picking up sub jobs on Thursdays and Fridays, when I can. My mom watches Makenzie and although it was so hard to leave her the first day, she's doing great and really enjoys her time with her Grammy and Poppie (my mom and dad) so I'm very thankful for that.
Makenzie is such a blessing to our lives and seriously brings us more and more joy each day. I love seeing the world through her eyes and watching her take in everything. She is a very busy baby and while she's not crawling yet, she rolls all around the living room and reaches for anything she can get her hands on. She is such a joy and makes us laugh frequently. I'll be posting a more complete update on our family blog, probably tomorrow so if you're interested you can check it out there.
