Oye vey

You all know how much I LOVE being absent from the blog, ugh. I think it's a quarterly thing. I get so wrapped up in things here I just don't get to my computer. I can't really apologize because I need to have my priorities in order but I do miss blogging. I have a long list of things I want to post and write about and share with you. Hopefully I'll be able to stay consistent for a bit.

As you can see (or maybe not if you're reading from an RSS feed) I updated the blog a bit. Added a fun new Pinterest widget with my latest pins, updated my bio and designed a different header. Do you love it? I certainly do. I have lots to share as I mentioned earlier so stay tuned. Tomorrow I am going to FINALLY share the Creation unit I did with Makenzie, like eons ago.

So what have I been up to in my almost 2 month absence?

Mainly, Makenzie turned 2. I just cannot believe it. 2 years old was so much harder for me to cope with than 1 was. When her first birthday was nearing, I was so excited. Don't get me wrong, I have some very fond memories of Makenzie being a baby but I also have some very unpleasant memories. I was looking forward to the new chapter of the three of us finally being happy and content, which is exactly what her second year of life held.

We had so much fun with her this past year. She has become a sweet and loving little girl. She is so smart it scares me (you think I'm kidding but I'm not, seriously) and she brings joy to everyone she meets, even the ladies at Bath and Body Works, heh. She is just a joy and this second year has been an absolute joy. I was sad to see the final days of "babyhood" come to an end. It seems like overnight she has become an independent warrior. Wanting to do everything on her own and fighting tooth and nail to get whatever it is that she can't have or do. I'm not backing down, which means that by the end of the night I'm exhausted, and yet full of joy over her. It's amazing how complex these little humans are, even at the age of 2. I'm amazed daily.

You know I can't post without sharing pics so here are some of my favorite shots from her two-year-old photo shoot that my amazing hubby took. (The adorable outfit was handmade by my talented momma, to match her birthday party, which I will share sometime soon)

  1. I'm glad you're back! Those pictures are adorable. I'd love to hear all about how your 2-yr old behaves these days. I hear you on being exhausted!

  2. Thanks Steph. I'm loving your baby updates, as well as Ryan updates too. :) 2-years-old has hit full force, plus she's getting her molars. She has been quite the handful. I just started reading Dr. Dobson's "Dare to Discipline" and it has already helped a ton. I'm only on page 42 but I've already gleaned some great principles, which is helping me cope some. :)

  3. I just finished Dobson's "The strong-willed child". I'll have to read "Dare to Discipline" next.
