UPDATE!!! Since writing this review I have had a horrible response from Wittlebee. Apparently they were moving and had inventory issues which can be understandable but the problem was that they took my $29.99 and after a month of them charging my card I still didn't have my next box, meaning that I had waited two months (this is a monthly service) and still hadn't received my box. The situation was handled horribly. We were not told this would occur until AFTER it occurred and any communications that I had with them gave me very vague answers. I'm not telling you not to subscribe but I'm definitely not recommending them as this was the story with MANY of their customers online. I cancelled my box and won't be ordering another...
Have you heard of Wittlebee? I hadn't either until I saw a Facebook deal for $10 off and checked it out. Wittlebee is a subscription service for children's clothes. For $39.99 a month you can get a box of new, brand name, kids clothing, worth about $100 retail. You can cancel or suspend your subscription at any time if you aren't in need of clothes anymore or if you simply just don't want to continue service. I was a little leary at first but with the $10 off coupon that would mean I would get 6 items of clothing for $30 (shipping included), that's $5 a piece. Makenzie was in need of fall clothes and even if I didn't care for them, she's going to need play clothes anyway and I'd pay $5 a piece for play clothes at Target soooo...I went for it. If you're interested look at the bottom of this post for a referral code to get $10 off your first box too!
Makenzie was so excited to get mail and to get new clothes! I immediately fell in love with a few pieces and a few others I was unsure of but once we put them on I actually thought they were cute. Not things I'd pick out but they are fine.
For starters you'll have to fill out a style profile by answering a series of "multiple choice" questions. Here's my style profile:
Styles needed: Long Sleeve, Pants\Leggings, Dresses/Skirts
Accessories Needed: No thanks
Favorite Colors: Brights, Earth Tones, Black & Whites
Graphics: Polka Dots, Flowers
Child's Gender: Girl
After receiving this box I added style notes that I like bright colors but not primary colors, as well as a few brand names that I like that they carry: Trish Scully, Kate Quinn & Tea. Okay so here's what's in our box.
This first outfit is a black and white polka dot shirt by Nosilla Organics and black leggings with lace on the bottom by Strawberry (I can't find info on this company). The material of the shirt is pretty thick so it'll be a great winter shirt, or fall for those of you who live where it is actually cool in the fall. At first glance it was just a regular shirt but when we put it on we noticed that the shoulders puff up a bit making it slightly nicer than a regular long sleeve shirt. The leggings are super cute with the added black lace on the bottom.
This next shirt I didn't think I liked at all. Hearts are an option to choose as graphics and I didn't choose hearts because I'm not a big fan of them. This looked like an oversized t-shirt but when she put it on I realized it was a 3/4 length long shirt. It's really cute with the black leggings, the tag says it's Wittlebee brand. Not something she'll wear to church or anywhere nice but it's great for playing or running to Target and the grocery store.
This outfit was my favorite and something I'd totally fall in love with on the rack. I LOVE stripes, I love navy and I love love love coral! The dress is Nosilla Organics and the leggings are American Apparel. Both items are great quality.
One thing that's great about all of the pieces is that they are interchangeable and will still be cute when she grows taller and they become shorter. She wore the navy striped dress to church without the leggings. I put a thin pink belt around her waist and put together a warmer weather outfit.
We also received a white Wittlebee t-shirt but she had had enough and wasn't about to try on one more thing. It's definitely not a favorite but it's fine to play in or run errands in.
My overall assessment is that this is a great site to get essentials. You're not going to get outfits that you will need for a fancy night out but there are some super cute, great quality items, all without the fuss of going to the mall and stressing over everything. For us, getting one box a month is WAY too many clothes but it's great to fill in the gaps in her wardrobe, which right now is VERY big, heh.
- Either have a stylist call you or check the Wittlebee Blog where you can see some of the brands they carry. They won't give you everything you ask for but if you give them some suggestions they will get an idea of what your style is and what kind of clothes to include. If you are interested use this referral code to get $10 off your first box!!!
- Follow Wittlebee on Facebook because people will post their pics of the clothes they're getting and you can get an idea of what brands and things you like to add to your style notes.
