So I've been gone for awhile, but I do have a good excuse! I think this video will help you understand...
The Secret from Dirk Dallas on Vimeo.
That's right, Baby Dallas #2 is on it's way, due to arrive sometime around August 3rd. The three of us are so excited. (I can't wait to share Makenzie's reaction with you)
We had been praying for another baby for about 6 months, so we were so excited to finally find out that we were having another baby! We got pregnant with Makenzie SO fast (In fact, if you asked me back then, I would have said too fast) but this time was so different. God taught me a lot of valuable lessons through that time.
Each month I would plan out everything in my mind: the baby's due date, what our schedule would like at that time, how old Makenzie would be, and on and on. Finally one day I crawled out of my "me bubble" and focused on the Lord and all I could keep hearing were the words of Proverbs 19:21, "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it's the Lord's purpose that prevails." Now let's be honest, my plans look great on paper. August, the baby's due date, is our busiest month out of the whole entire year. Dirk is usually gone A LOT in August. My idea was to have a baby in May, right when summer break starts, I would have Dirk around for THREE months before he would have to go back to work. That sounded amazing to me, but it's not what had God planned and I know that when August comes around, God will give me all that I need in each moment. I am looking forward to seeing how He works in our lives. You'd think I would have learned that by now, geesh!
I do have to say though, that I am so excited to have a summer baby! Makenzie was born in late winter so we were still bundled up for quite awhile. Trying to breastfeed a baby, who already doesn't want to breastfeed, when you are wearing a million layers is not helpful. I'm looking forward to wearing sundresses and tank tops and enjoying some final fun summer things as a family of three. I'm sure I'll be blogging about how puffed my ankles are and how HOT it is out here in So Cal but I'm already trying to prepare myself for that. I'm looking forward to getting back on the blogging wagon now that I'm feeling better and able to get off of the couch without feeling like I'm gonna lose what little I ate. I'm excited to share my pregnancy journey this time around. :)
